Annual Plastic Pick-Up Competition:

Our Annual Plastic Pick-Up Competition has been going for over 4 years and encourages teens world wide to pick up plastic in their local communities to help combat the global issue of plastic pollution, one small step at a time. With this competition we aim to eliminate single-use plastics from contaminating our ecosystems and environment as we bring together a community of youth internationally. This year we had our biggest turnout with a huge number of participants from Nigeria, Indonesia, and Turkey!

Proposals to our Local Governments:

Our most recent project has been creating proposals to each of our local governments implementing sustainability and promoting healthy habits. While being sent out individually, each of us has gone through the same stages of brainstorming, drafting, and editing together to ensure that our proposals are in their best shape. Some examples of our proposals are adding more recycling bins to local parks, creating stricter bans on single-use plastics, and hosting sustainable workshops to spread awareness on plastic pollution. This has been one of our biggest focuses of the year and we hope to send them out by spring!

Collaboration:

We hope that in the future we can collaborate with other hubs such as the health equity hub, climate hub, education hub and others who share similar goals as we do!
